Colin: Whenever I buy a comic directly from the author off their website, I tell them that they should deface it in any way they see fit. I hit the jackpot using this tactic with Ryan Cecil Smith when I bought his comic SF. He drew every member of the SFSFSF with whiteout and ink on the cover. Everything you see here in white is hand drawn. (Here's the regular cover, so you can see the difference.) How this guy can put out the comics he does and somehow have the time to do this type of thing is very daunting. Smith's got a great style that any cartoonist would be jealous of. It's saturated with the pure fun of making comics, deftly exploiting one of comics' greatest strengths, and passes that fun onto the reader unadulterated.
